I have seen a huge increase in Karen Millen (specifically dresses) being sold from China. While these look like a bargain, please beware that they really might not be. There is a huge issue with counterfeit dresses being made from inferior materials in Chinese factories - many styles of which were never even commissioned to be made there! (Ie - the black and white bow dress from last season, which was actually made in Lithuania!) These dresses are of a far inferior quality to the genuine dresses.
There was recently a buyer who bought a 2006 pink butterfly dress from China (the one made famous by Leona Lewis on X-Factor) that looked terrible when she received it - incredibly thin lining, and faded colours. This guide is intended to help bidders avoid being scammed by unknowledgeable and/or dishonest sellers. It also sheds light on the term "Bergen".All British soldiers today call their rucksacks "Bergens" (Often miss-spelt as "Bergans"). The term comes from the original '42 Pattern external 'A' frame rucksack that was closely modelled on skiers' rucksacks made or used at Bergen, Norway.Elite units, ie: Airborne Forces (SAS, Para, Gliderborne and Glider pilots) and Seaborne Forces (Commando), were issued these rucksacks. Because of the nature of their operations, they were required to be self-supporting and, usually, carry all that they needed to survive and continue their operations independently of the larger logistical structure of the army. Hence the term "Bergen Soldiers", a phrase that seems out of date today. The ethos remains the same: self-reliant, fighting elite men who tackle the most dangerous missions, operate independently in isolation and for protracted periods.The '42 Bergen came in a few variants and in two or possibly three colours. The earlier ones that the author's seen were not waterproof lined and were khaki in colour. There was a waterproof lined version (circa 1943) then, by 1944, a green waterproof lined version. This final variant remained in service until the early 1980s. There may have been a chocolate brown version (matching the '42 Assault and Battle Jerkins) but the author has neither seen nor heard about any bergens made in this colour fabric.The '42 Bergen was replaced by the '72 Patt "Rucksack SAS" - also known as the "SAS/PARA" or "Airborne" Bergen. (NSN 8465-99-136-1886) This had a square external frame that was also used for carrying the Clansman PRC 351 and 352 radio sets. From habit, these were called "Bergens" - despite the fact that, strictly speaking, they weren't because of the shape of the frame and pack.

2. ALWAYS read a seller's terms and conditions BEFORE you bid - they are put there to ensure a smooth transaction and it's no good arguing afterwards. If you see something in a seller's terms and conditions that you don't like, simply look elsewhere - it will make your life much easier.
3. Feel free to ask a seller ANYTHING that you might deem important that is not already on the listing. It's important for you that if you require stretch, you ask if a garment has stretch, for example. It saves a lot of disappointment afterwards. Any good seller will be happy to answer questions for you.
4. Bear in mind that price is not always indicative of quality. Likewise, many sellers list items well below wholesale price in order to generate bidding interest, and it's easy to get sucked in to thinking you're getting a bargain but by the time bidding ends, you've paid as much as you would elsewhere. A low start price does not guarantee a low finish price.
5. Make good use of the auction proxy bid system and don't risk missing out. Especially important with clothing, which is essentially an emotional purchase - you have no idea of the amount of emails we get saying 'we missed out - do you have another one?'. A size 16 in one brand can often be another brand's size 12 and another brand's size 18. You just don't know until you try it on. The only way to 'try on' a garment online is to check the measurements against a similar garment that you own, which will give an idea of the fit. If you want more measurements, ask the seller. A good seller will always be happy to give you any measurements you require.

A size 16 in one brand can often be another brand's size 12 and another brand's size 18. You just don't know until you try it on. The only way to 'try on' a garment online is to check the measurements against a similar garment that you own, which will give an idea of the fit. If you want more measurements, ask the seller. A good seller will always be happy to give you any measurements you require.

I have recently sold my beloved Fendi Spy bag. I bought it from Fendi in Hong Kong and sold it with the receit etc. Upon listing i was mortified at just how many emails i had with worried bidders asking if it was real. These shoes were very popular last Summer and are looking to be even more so this year so just wanted to let people know about the copies being sold on ebay. I recently bought a pair for my 8 year old grandson who was over the moon to get some and on the day they arrived immediately opened the parcel and pulled the shoes apart to try them on.
In doing this he split the tiny amount of rubber holding the straps on rendering them totally useless. On contacting the seller I was told he had never professed that these cheap copies were "Crocs". There are huge amounts of copied items doing the rounds at the moment and the genuine Crocs are well made and substantial and last forever.
I was offered another pair of copies at cost price but why would anyone want to buy rubbish twice?!
The genuine Crocs are more expensive but wholly worth paying the extra for

You can custom any searches into auction only or buy it now only, the buttons to do this are towards the top left of the page. You can also sort into highest/lowest price first, newly listed and finishing soon. Also customise into new and used/second hand items.
To list in the wholesale section there should be a minimum of 6 items in the lot, these are the listing rules. There are some single items occasionally listed, these should not be in the wholesale category and tend not to sell there!
If buying, check the postage costs are affordable and if its what you want and is a good price make a bid or buy instantly. Don't be afraid to ask the sellers any questions you may have, there's a link to ask a question on every item page. If you want you can seperate the buy it now items from the auction items, use the bars above the listings, top left.
If buying, remember to check the seller's feedback rating, see if they are selling any more of the same item.
